Amanda + Kayla - Tahoe Elopement
My good friend, Becky (@beckygstudios), and I knew that we wanted to create something unique and fun…something that we haven’t necessarily seen yet. But most of all, we knew that we wanted our shoot to be sustainable. In my 4+ years as a wedding photographer, I think one of my biggest complaints with the wedding industry is that there’s a lot of waste going on. We wanted to prove that we could design a beautiful elopement and utilize the resources around us, without having to spend a ton of money and without being too wasteful. One trip to Goodwill and we were able to find most of the items for the table, like the glassware and table clothes, and everything else pretty much fell into place.
Our models, Amanda + Kayla, BROUGHT THE HEAT. They showed up not only with the best energy but also they understood the assignment - their outfits were either thrifted or second-hand.A+K also brought thrifted this beauuutiful mustard yellow record player, which was the best addition to our tablescape. These two were down for everything and anything, which we loved. We started off at the cabin with our fun florals and fruit. Then we skated + wandered through the neighborhood. Along the way, we found this lamp on the side of the road, which was the perfect addition to the vibe. We eventually made our way down to the dock to enjoy some local pizza and were surprised with the gorgeous full moon rising up over the mountains. Perfect doesn’t even come close to describing this day.
